Paula Cole es una de esas cantantes que cuando la escuchas te deja una huella muy profunda. No se si será su voz, su manera de contar las cosas con unas letras muy profundas, su fuerza,....
Para mi es una de las cantautoras mas completas y versátiles que conozco. Sus discos son una maravilla, aunque su álbum Amen bajo un poco el listón. Pero bueno, con su ultimo trabajo llamado "Courage" ha vuelto a subir el listón para estar al nivel de sus primeras obras, "Harbringer" y sobretodo ese genial disco titulado "This Fire".

Su música se caracteriza sobretodo por una fuerza vocal impresionante que se sobrepone a cualquier construcción músical de sus canciones. Sus primeros dos discos("Harbringer" y "This Fire") se puede decir que eran pop-rock, mientras que en el 3º (Amen)se adentraba en un camino mas complicado ya que tocaba de todo, desde R&B, rap,pop,rock y eso fue un lastre para el disco. Con su 4º albúm, "Courage", Paula ha tirado mas por el camino del Jazz. Y creo que ha sido una evolución muy acertada, ya que su voz es perfecta para este estilo músical.
